Happy Tu B’Av

Today is the 15th day of the Jewish month of Av, known in Hebrew as Tu B’Av. It’s a day discussed in the Mishna as a happy day, when unmarried boys and girls would seek their mates. You can read more here and here.

In honour of this day, a wonderful group of Israeli youngsters – who call themselves “Underdos” –  have made a video spoofing a popular Israeli song, which makes fun of the dating habits of religious youth. Sorry, unless you live in Israel you won’t get why it’s funny or what the references are, but my family enjoyed the clip so much I couldn’t resist.

Enjoy, and I wish all those who need it, a successful Tu B’Av.
